Complete with a Cockney British sports announcer calling the field, this darling event is not to be missed.

Approximately 50 riders began the season, competing for one of the 10 coveted spots at the Shetland Pony Grand National, which is run at the Olympia Horse Show every year. Riders come from disciplines such as jumpers, eventing and dressage and must compete for one year prior to becoming eligible.

These youngsters must be between 9 & 13 and stand no taller than 5’1″. Ponies must be 5 years of age and registered with the Shetland Pony Stud Book Society.

Not only is the Shetland Pony Grand National one of the adorable races on the planet, but it’s a charity event as well. These young riders and their pony partners pick a yearly charity to race for.  Thus far, they have raised close to $1,000,000.00 on behalf of underprivileged children.
